Hello! Today I have two finished objects, two works in progress, a little spinning, and a crafty purchase to share with you. So, let’s jump right in!
My first finished object this week is my second Hitchhiker Shawl:
The pattern is by Martina Behm. I’ve knit several of her patterns over the years, and loved them. They’re simple, versatile, and lovely to wear. I knit this one in A Hundred Ravens Aesir in the colorway Urban Spring, on size US 6 (4.0 mm) needles. I mostly liked this yarn. It’s soft and drapey once blocked, and the colors are so fun, but I ran into several knotted breaks in the skeins while knitting. I’m super pleased though with the finished shawl, and have been wearing it quite a bit!
My second finished object is a pair of socks:
The pattern is Vida Socks by Mina Philipp. I knit these with Knit One Crochet Too Ty-Dy Socks in the colorway 1518, on size US 1 1/2 (2.5 mm) needles. There were a lot of firsts for me in knitting these socks. I used magic loop (I typically use dpns, which I prefer), I did a short row heel, and a rounded toe. I really like the fit of the short row heel and rounded toe, and will definitely do these more. All I can say is, I love these socks!
Works in Progress:
I started two new projects recently. The first is a shawl pattern I’ve been eyeing for a long time, and finally cast on:
It’s the Drachenfels Shawl by Melanie Berg. I’m knitting it with Rosy Green Wool Cheeky Merino Joy (which I love!) on size US 6 (4.0 mm) needles. So far, so good. 🙂
My second work in progress is a pair of socks:
I cast these on Friday night, so I’m calling them my Friday Night Socks. They’re just plain vanilla socks, to better show off how pretty the yarn is. I’m knitting them with Done Roving Yarns Frolicking Feet in the colorway Wild Blue Yonder on size US 1 1/2 (2.5 mm) needles. Again, so far, so good.
I’m still working on the Targhee wool I showed you last time:
I’m plying the last 4 ounces, so I should be done very soon.
One item arrived in the mail since my last blog. I bought a 4 oz braid of BFL wool in the colorway Harvest from Bad Wolf Yarn on Etsy:
This will be next on my wheel.
Well, I think that’s it for this week. Until next time, happy crafting!
