Hello! This week’s post will be short, since I don’t actually have a lot to show you. I don’t have any finished objects, but I do have a couple of works in progress and some spinning.
Works in Progress:
So far this year I’ve been pretty good about working on existing WIPs, and not starting new projects yet, even though I totally want to cast on all the new things. The first thing I’ve been working on this week is my second “Vida” sock:
I have one more pattern repeat before the heel. I’m really hoping to finish these before the end of the month.
The other project I’ve been working on is my “Hitchhiker” shawl. I’ve only added maybe three inches to it, so I won’t show you a photo because it doesn’t look much different. Hopefully I’ll finish this by the end of the month as well, since I have another shawl I’m super excited to cast on.
Spinning:
This week I finished the “Paper Roses” fiber I was spinning:
It is 80% mixed BFL, 20% Tussah silk, and was hand dyed by Greenwood Fiberworks. I ended up with about 235 yards of a sport weight 2-ply yarn. This was a pretty nice spin, but I think I prefer plain BFL wool to a BFL / silk blend.
Next on my wheel are some battlings from Hobbledehoy:
They are 75% Superwash Merino, 25% Silk, and hand dyed. I love spinning these! They are so soft and beautiful. I’ve got one bobbin of singles done so far:
I’m working on the rest of the singles, then I’ll ply them together.
So, that’s it for this week.
Until next time, Happy Crafting!
