Actually Blogging!

So, I think I’m going to try actually blogging, not just posting pictures of new items in my shop.  We’ll see how this goes…

First up I’ve finished a shawl recently:

It’s the Wingfeathers Shawl by Cal Patch.  I used Jill Draper Makes Stuff Esopus yarn in the Sapphire colorway, and I used a size E hook.

I absolutely loved making this shawl, and I love how it turned out!  The pattern was easy to follow, and the yarn was a pleasure to crochet with.  I can totally see making more of these.  In fact, I have another Wingfeathers Shawl on the hook right now.  This time I’m using Jill Draper Makes Stuff Rifton in autumn colors, on a size F hook.

The colors of this yarn are gorgeous, but it’s not as smooth to crochet with.  I’m still loving it though, and it will be a perfect accessory this autumn.

I’m also working on Hermione’s Everyday Socks by Erica Lueder.  I’m using Jill Draper Makes Stuff Esopus again, in the Common Heather colorway, on size 1 needles.

I finished the first sock, and am almost halfway through the second.

In case you couldn’t tell, I love Jill Draper’s yarns!  She dyes the most beautiful colors, and all of her yarns are made sheep to skein in the USA.  You can check out her shop here.  She is currently having a knit along leading up to the Rhinebeck sheep and wool festival.  Details are listed in her Ravelry group.  This is why I have so many projects going right now with her yarns.

On to spinning news.  I’ve recently finished spinning some “Starfire” yarn:

It is 100% hand dyed wool, about sport weight, 14-15 wpi.  I just added it to my shop.  I think this yarn would be great for an autumn project!

So that’s it for today.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!
